Garrettville HO Scale Layout

                 Update: 5-31-25.        Well, we've come to the last day of May, and we've made changes to our layout. To start with we have a new locomotive: CSX 5943 (Dash-8B) This is our first Atlas brand and we love it! To the left you see out new NS Garrett Yard office and maintenance. Speaking of new, we have also added a small CSX office. On a sad note we had to send NS #5301 to the Bachmann Service, it de-railed and needs some fixing. We hope to be re-introducing the"Rio Grande" brand, yes in the real world there no more but hey this is freelance modeling. We still have the SD-40-T 5378 dummy locomotive, but want to get a powered locomotive to pull it. Bj (wife) says we need some different rolling stock with other companies names.     Today we will have CSX 7661 bringing in a csx closed hoppers unit train (U-1) The dash-8 will then depart.     Our road dog #100 will pickup the 6 closed hoppers and bring them to US Plastics. Once all have been unloaded then #100 will take them back to the departure track.     CSX 5943 will them depart with (U-1) and take them to Altoona Yard.      NS 3057 has another MOW Train day.  You see the videos at: Garrett Layout  You Tube Channel

   NS and CSX Garrett Yard Offices     Good morning, today is Sunday the 25th 2025. We added some photos to the website: Garrett Layout.   NS 5301 will be delivered to Bachmann Service Tuesday. No videos today, it is Sunday.       

  Just finished the NS Guard Shack. The model is made by Golden Gate on Ebay. I painted it in NS Black and White. 

  *Updated Information: 05-20-25 for Garrett Layout* We’ve sent off the Bachmann Made: (SD-40-2 #5301) for repair. The NS #3057 (GP-40) will take over the #5301 MOW’s Duties. Our new CSX #5943, and #100 NS Yard Dog will handle Operations, and CSX#7661 will handle #33 Inbound and #34 Outbound.   We have a new arrival today! Atlas 9817 HO Scale CSX Dash 8-40B Diesel Locomotive with DCC #5943. This is our second CSX Locomotive.  This will be our first Atlas model.  Below is the actual Locomotive

         As  I sit here, I'm feeling excited. I don't have a model railroad budget, but I have time. Well at least when my health allows me the time. Myself and my son Jason love our family layout. My wife created Pine mountain. We've named businesses and other places after family members. Sometimes I can get very frustrated when an engine stops working or the track forces an engine to stall. Or rolling stock derails. But, the times when we dispatch or just do operations it is all worth it. Jason is Autistic, He loves roleplaying, He is a doctor, a Dj, a Minister, Policeman, Firefighter, and now he roleplays the Yard Master on Garrett Layout.  For me, I'd love to get another DCC locomotive. Not sure: NS or CSX? But I'm waiting. Well I guess I'll stop here for now.
