             Hello and welcome to Garrett Layout's revamped Blog. This blog will hopefully be  an ongoing update blog. Perhaps not every day but more current. 

Our latest news is the reaccurance of two former NS Locomotives.

CSX 8198,     This unit is an SD40-2 Locomotive. It was manufactured by: Broadway Limited. The unit was originally was DC with sound, The orginal owner added a DCC decoder.

(This engine runs great in both directions, has directional lighting, flashing ditch-lights, and realistic sound. It is a blue line locomotive, but it has been equipped with a Digitrax DCC decoder. The decoder has been set to #3.)

The two other locomotives are two of the orginal fleet.

    NS 3430 and 5301 are SD40-2s. Made by Bachmann. The NS 5301 was and original NS 3430 but we changed the road number to 5301. Orginally we used this unit for our MOW Train. Then the mtoor died and we sent it in for service (Bachmann Service) They fixed the unit and also added a new shell. The NS 3430 was out orginal DCC first locomotive. Then it ran off the layout and became a dummy model,we still have the dummy version, We purchased another Bachmann 3430 to replacem it.
